Pause: A Visual Intermezzo

The Scharpenberg Gallery, located in the historical Lincoln Square DANK-HAUS building, 4740 North Western Avenue in Chicago presents the premier exhibition, Pause: A Visual Intermezzo. Featuring the art of Susan Barton, Ed Ott, Eva Rossi-Kivimaki, Anwar Sheikh, Cyd Smillie and Lothar Speer, the exhibition exudes visual respite through painting, drawing and glass. A preview exhibition was coordinated in conjunction with a performance of Vivaldi's, "Gloria", May 4th, at Bach and Beyond's, Spring Choral and Orchestral Concert.

Opening reception for the exhibition is, Friday, June 20th, from 6-9pm.

Regular gallery hours are Saturdays, June 21st-August 30th, from 11-3pm or by appointment during the week.

Dancing Loon Artisans

Harbor Country's, Dancing Loon Artisans is now carrying artwork by Susan Barton in their gallery. Oil paintings depicting the beautiful beaches of the surrounding Michigan dunes, Susan's work captures the unique surf, sun and sky of the area. Her work will be displayed during Art Attack! and through out the summer.

Located at 30 North Whittaker, in New Buffalo, Michigan, the gallery hosts artists from Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.

The Art in My Back Yard series is an outgrowth of the West Walker Civic Association's Community Vision, and seeks to bring more art and arts programming to the community while also celebrating the many varied artists living here.

Studios Revealed is free and open to the public Saturday and Sunday through the end of May, and includes paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, sculptures and video from over 20 neighborhood artists.
